Middle House
Dunsborough, Wadandi Boodja
Middle House is part of a collection of five architecturally designed townhouses less than 1 km from the beach — a project redefining compact coastal living through thoughtful planning, materiality, and light. Each dwelling is single-storey, oriented perfectly north, and carefully articulated to feel spacious and private despite their narrow footprints.
From the street, Middle House presents restraint, but inside it reveals a striking sense of scale: soaring raked ceilings, high-level glazing, and perfectly oriented northern light flooding the main living spaces.
The two-bedroom plan is deliberately zoned, with a private master suite at the rear opening to a landscaped deck and alfresco. Designed for sophistication as well as efficiency, the ensuite and bedroom merge as one open, light-filled volume. At the heart of the home, the kitchen is generous, anchoring the living spaces as a place for gathering and connection.
Externally, the home is clad in James Hardie Linea and Axon boards, their interplay of textures accentuated by a monochrome palette. A green front door signals the bold interior colour drenching and detailing within, where copper tapware and considered finishes deliver personality and refinement.
Together, the five houses demonstrate an innovative model: smaller footprints delivering maximum living — elegant, low maintenance, and deeply responsive to climate and site.
