Siesta House

Siesta Park, Wadandi Boodja

In collaboration with interior architect Megan Myers, Siesta House reimagines an ageing beach home into a contemporary coastal retreat. The original garage was retained and reclad, while a new front addition establishes a language of white gables, light-filled interiors and coastal ease.

Three gabled pavilions define the home’s composition, positioned between mature peppermint trees and an adjacent tennis court. At its center, the primary gable soars with raked ceilings over the kitchen and living spaces, anchored by a sculptural limestone fireplace and natural stone benchtops from the West Australian Pilbara.

A secluded master retreat occupies the front wing, while the rear accommodates children’s bedrooms, linking seamlessly to the retained original structure. Every window frames greenery and distant ocean glimpses reinforcing the home’s continual dialogue with nature.

Designed for generations, Siesta House balances modesty with quiet luxury — a coastal retreat uniting indoor outdoor living, contextual sensitivity, and enduring presence.
