Barn House
Yallingup, Wadandi Boodja
Anchored on a ridge in Yallingup, this compact one-bedroom ancillary dwelling marks the first stage of a larger project, setting the architectural tone for the main house now under construction.
Clad in Monument Matt steel, the barn recedes into its bushland backdrop, its darkened form attuned to the landscape. Within, burnished concrete floors provide both robustness and thermal stability, grounding a pared-back plan that balances efficiency and amenity within a modest footprint.
Openings are carefully positioned to draw light and landscape inward, framing seasonal shifts and evening sunsets. Though small in scale, the barn is fully resolved — pragmatic, atmospheric, and an architectural prelude to the home that will follow.
