North House

Yallingup, Wadandi Boodja

North House is set on a rural block in Yallingup Siding, carefully oriented north and sitting low at the base of the dam wall. Clean lines, recessed forms, and simple skillion rooflines create a minimalist composition, while a discreet timber-clad garage and meandering gravel driveway integrate service functions with subtlety.

Large rammed earth blade walls anchor the home, complemented by pre-aged spotted gum cladding, Monument Matt steel, and a granite fireplace sourced on-site. Warm polished concrete floors with underfloor heating and high-performance glazing provide comfort, efficiency, and connection to the surrounding landscape.

The plan is both open and private: at one end, the master suite offers tranquility with a freestanding bath framing views of kangaroos; at the other, a guest wing of three bedrooms is reached via a long corridor punctuated by a picture window.

The windows framing uninterrupted bushland vistas, ensuring the home is always in conversation with its environment. North House is finely considered yet commanding — a timeless residence where materiality, light and landscape converge.
